Based on the success of the show and Allan's contacts in the U.S. Allan was approached by the President of the Talk America Radio Network to syndicate his popular show. The HomeBiz Minute was picked up by 400 statons coast to coast across the U.S. And all of this with the American public unaware that the show was being broadcast from CKNW in Canada on an ISDN line through to Boston. As long as nobody said "oot" or "aboot" all went well!
Big Al is still alive and well and living in Deep Cove, B.C., Canada. When the spirit moves him, and it does often, he imagines he's that little boy in Edmonton again and spontaneously rambles through the 15 dialects and character voices he used to affectionately refer to as his "radio family". Hey, when you're an only child you work with what you got!! |
